What To Bring - A playful attitude! Everybody has different tastes in lingerie bring what you are comfortable and feel sexy wearing being confident has a big affect on your images.
Lingerie (the favourites) - Babydolls, corsets, bra pantie sets, garters, boy shorts, stocking, high heels (a must), men's shirts (very popular with stockings!), knee highs, body stockings, tutus, leather and PVC wear. lets talk shoes!
Props -Props and accessories for boudoir photography are about dressing and acting a part. If you have something that captures your imagination, it will be easier for you to act in front of the camera. My props and accessories collection includes a Firemans suite including boots, oversized hats, sun glasses, sports items, mirrors (I really like mirrors – somehow mirrors help the shy moms that I work with relax and pose confidently), gloves, silk sheets, cuffs, etc. Keep in mind, the props don’t make the shot – they enhance the shot, when used imaginatively. For the style of boudoir photography that I shoot, ‘less is more.’
Props and accessories are in the shoot for a purpose. Classic boudoir photography ‘is not’ a reflection of ‘real-life.’ For instance, it is unlikely that a woman would go swimming wearing a blouse. In boudoir photography, however, one of the classic shots is of a model emerging from the sea with a wet, sheer garment clinging to every one of her curves. Sun glasses hide the eyes, but they make a stunning point about nudity when they are the only thing you are wearing. This is true of any accessory – scarves, shoes, stockings, for example – on an otherwise nude person.
